Track business miles for your tax deduction

Log the trips you drive for work and see the deduction at the IRS standard mileage rate.

  1. 1Open [Mileage](/mileage) (Expenses & Bills › Mileage).
  2. 2Under Vehicles, add the car, van or truck you drive for work (optional, but it shows miles per vehicle).
  3. 3Press Add trip: the date, the distance, whether it was a round trip, and what it was for. Mark personal drives as Personal so they're left out.

The cards show your business miles for the tax year and the deduction at the IRS standard rate (72.5¢ a mile for 2026). Mileage doesn't go into your books; give the total to your accountant or use it on your tax return.

The IRS asks what each business trip was for, so fill in What it was for. If your accountant uses a different rate, press Change next to the rate.
