Bank rules: sort transactions automatically
"When the description contains X, put it in Y", optionally posted without you.
In Accounting › Rules, add a rule with the words to look for, money in or out, an optional amount range and account, and the category to use.
- Rules run in order; the first that fits wins. Use the arrows to reorder.
- Turn on Post automatically to send matching transactions straight into your books. Anything that matches an invoice, bill or transfer still waits for you, so nothing is counted twice.
- Changing a rule re-sorts everything waiting for review. Already approved transactions don't change.
