Review and post bank transactions

How TallyPip suggests categories, how to post many at once, and how to undo.

Every new transaction waits in Pending with a suggested category. The suggestion comes from your own bank rules, what you chose for that payee before, and what TallyPip knows about common businesses.

If none of those recognise a transaction, TallyPip AI takes a look a few minutes after it arrives and may suggest a category, marked TallyPip AI. It only sees the bank's description, the amount and your category names (never your business name or other records), and an AI suggestion is never posted on its own: check it like any other. If it can't tell, the transaction simply asks you.

  1. 1Check the suggestion. Change the category if it's wrong.
  2. 2Press Post (or tick several and post them together). The ones TallyPip is sure about can be posted in one go. Click a description to see the full bank text, why TallyPip suggests what it does, and one-tap answers.
  3. 3Posted transactions move to Posted. Exclude (from the ▾ next to Post) keeps personal spending or duplicates out of your books.

TallyPip remembers your choices for each payee (for your business only), so the next Shell Oil purchase is already in Vehicle & Fuel.

Matches TallyPip found

If a deposit matches an invoice, or a payment matches a bill you entered, it shows at the top. Match or Record payment links them so the money is only counted once.

Personal or duplicate transactions

Use Leave out for things that don't belong in the business books. You can bring them back later.

Undo

In Posted, Undo takes a transaction back out of the books so you can sort it again (unless it's part of a reconciled statement).
