Chart of accounts and journal entries

The categories your money is sorted into, and adjustments by hand.

The chart of accounts is the list of categories TallyPip sorts everything into: bank accounts, income, expenses, what you owe and so on. You can add accounts, rename them, or hide ones you don't use.

A journal entry records something by hand, like an adjustment from your accountant. Debits and credits must be equal before it saves. Owners, admins and accountants can add them.

Not sure? Most businesses never need journal entries: invoices, bills and bank transactions record everything for you.
