Recurring transactions: rent, loan payments and other repeats
Save a bill, expense, check, journal entry, transfer, deposit or sales receipt as a template, and let TallyPip make it on schedule.
- 1Open [Recurring transactions](/recurring) (Accounting, or the gear menu › Lists).
- 2Press New and choose what it is: a bill, expense, check, journal entry, transfer, bank deposit, sales receipt or invoice.
- 3Name the template and choose its Type: Scheduled (made by itself on each date), Reminder (TallyPip reminds you, then you press Use) or Unscheduled (kept ready for when you need it).
- 4For Scheduled and Reminder, choose how often and the first date. Fill in the transaction as usual and press Save template.
TallyPip checks the template with the same rules as the form, so a template that couldn't be saved as a real transaction is caught straight away. Each copy gets its own date, number and due date.
If a scheduled date falls in a period you've closed, nothing is made for it. Move the closing date or change the template, and TallyPip carries on from there.
Pause a template to skip a few dates, or delete it; transactions already made stay in your books. Recurring invoices appear in the same list.
